3) Post Graduate Diploma in Emergency Medical Services (PGDEMS)

The Post Graduate Diploma in Emergency Medical Services (PGDEMS) is the first such programme in the country which will train medical professionals in the basics of emergency medical services in line with the Los Angeles Paramedical Institute, USA.

4) MCEM ( Member of College of Emergency Medicine ) United Kingdom : One can write the Membership exam in India itself , Membership exam is of three parts . All the three parts can be done in India .


MCEM Program in Apollo hyderabad : Three year residential program for MCEM in Apollo Hospital ,Hyderabad . To get in one has to write MCEM part A and clear it .


Opportunities after Fellowship abroad : There is a demand for Emergency medicine now in UK , they are accepting Fellowship and the MCEM candiadates with exemption of PLAB , one has to go through only IELTS .

Opportunities in India :On an average one gets paid 40,000 to 50,000 per month post Fellowship in Emergency Medicine .

Future of Emergency medicine : MCI has recognised the Emergency medicine as a specialty for MD , which soon will be started , as the Ministry of Health has recognised foreign degrees , MCEM should be recognised as a Masters degree in future . Check out the following link of MCI India .

  2. sorry , i have no clue when the MD(EM) program is going to start. Now since the MCI is dissolved and a new board of governer's are formed ( assuming they would be corrupt free ), we can expect something soon !
